After soul retrieval, most clients experience changes in their energy, lives, and physical wellbeing, often described as a feeling of being complete.

What is Soul Retrieval?

Soul retrieval is a shamanic healing ceremony for the recovery and return of energy loss that occurred either in present or past life times.

What causes energy loss?

Energy loss can occur as a result of actual or perceived traumatic emotional and physical events. The events are on a continuum between minor and severe. The degree of severity doesn’t matter. What matters is that there has been an event that has triggered a loss. The common factor is that the experience was frightening, painful emotionally or physically, jolting, threatening, or traumatizing such as the loss of a loved one, abuse, humiliation and embarrassment, acts of terror, or actual physical trauma as in surgery, an accident or a fall. When these kinds of events are overwhelmingly beyond our capacity to cope there is an unconscious protective tendency to close down and withdraw from the suffering caused by the triggering event. Within the event and this protective shutting down and withdrawal, energy loss (also referred to as soul loss) can occur.

How do we know when there has been soul loss?

Symptoms of soul loss vary but some common ones are depression, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, poor concentration, literally a feeling that something is missing, sadness, inability to recall events in one’s life, and / or unrealistic fears. Not everyone experiences all or any of these. The discovery of soul loss is a journey between the client and the shamanic practitioner. Between the stories of what are brought to session and the assessments that occur, the practitioner is led to the discovery of soul loss.

How is soul energy retrieved and returned?

When soul energy loss is suspected, the practitioner discusses this possibility with the client and together they determine if it is desirable to retrieve and return the energy to the client. Through journey work a practitioner can locate lost soul energy and invite it to return. Sometimes the situation that caused the soul energy loss in the first place still needs healing. If so this is provided prior to retrieval and return. Once the soul energy is balanced, it is brought back directly into session and is gently blown into one of the client’s chakras.

Why would you not always return lost energy?

Sometimes an individual is not ready to receive soul retrieval. They often have other life work to do. Sometimes the soul energy is not ready to return. Retrieving energy when the client or soul energy are not ready does not work and the energy may not be retrieved or retained.

What does it feel like to receive soul retrieval?

The experience itself is as varied as there are people. Some do not perceive the actual return at all and their experience and awareness unfolds over time. Many people sense something as the soul energy is blown in. Most experience changes in their energy, lives, and physical wellbeing after soul retrieval. Clients often describe it as a feeling of being complete.
