A Winter Triskelion Labyrinth Event

The Triskele ancient symbol is an enduring image that intertwines art, mythology, history, & a whole lot of mystical fun lit in thousands of white lights held within the arms of our SONQO sanctuary labyrinth. Surrounded in native trees it feels as if the fairy folk & devas are as happy as we are.

Designed from graceful curves of 3 interlocking spirals radiating from a central hub, its 36 feet in diameter placement rests upon a natural vortex. Your personal journey within each of the 3 circles begins clockwise along the path towards the center & then turns counter-clockwise as you leave the center, & then onto the next circle.

Following the Labyrinth Path
In your personal contemplation, you will be guided on the path from the East entrance into the 1st spiral for physical meditation, then into the 2nd spiral for emotional, & lastly into the 3rd West spiral for spiritual. Your journey will continue onward on the path to the center for a pause & then return back through the spirals concluding in the East where you first began.

It’s an Ancient Walk across Time with Personal Meaning for You
Though mostly speculation, there are many different meanings & ways the Triskele has been used. Beyond the symbol itself, very little was written in history. As such, it’s open to interpretation & more importantly the personal journey one takes within.

From a shamanic perspective, the circles serve as portals into the uhupacha, kaypacha, & hanaqpacha; the lower, middle & upper worlds respectively.

However, the symbol itself is endeared by many who celebrate & believe truly that important patterns occur in threes. Though considered Celtic in origin & referred to as the “Celtic Spiral” it’s believed the symbology originates to approximately 3200 BCE & thus predates the Celts. Though the symbol’s roots were not sown by the Celts, the symbol itself was extensively used in their artwork.

Birthing the Labyrinth
We chose to birth the Triskele at this time for the purpose of bringing community together for ritual, celebration, & healing, both personally & collectively.

How Much Does it Cost?
It’s free & open to the public & groups by appointment. Attendees may visit before or after dark though the lights are at their best in the dark time. Additionally we’re asking for your consideration of a donation for a young mother with breast cancer. Donations may be made in cash or through her direct venmo account.

For Your Safety
Participants must be able to walk independently on uneven ground & should bring a flash light to use to and from the labyrinth. Yes, it’s dark as you approach the labyrinth; much like entering into the womb. Though not recommended for young children, if you choose to bring your older children they must stay with you for their own safety & our sanity in assuring their safety.

How Long is the Labyrinth Open?
As long as this is posted on the website, the labyrinth will be up. Eventually the grass will grow & we will turn the page into spring & the joy of other possible events.
